Today's post is neither about food or travel but on fireworks.
Turtle Bay Resort has a special place in our hearts.
As locals, we love it for stay-cations and have memories from childhood.
It's a wonderful getaway from the main part of the city where you can actually slow down and relax
while looking out at their spectacular views.
We enjoy going to Kirin Chinese Restaurant for Dim Sum (see my review),
but our visit this time was for a birthday dinner.
Sunday Brunch is one of my favorite things.
Nothing beats brunch with your favorite people and a Mimosa or two.
We visited Harbor Restaurant at Pier 38 for the 3rd time in 3 months
(for me anyway; a handful of times for my other half).
That's how much we enjoy this restaurant.
This visit, we tried out their Mother's Day Brunch to see their interpretation of brunch in paradise.
Ah, Chinese food-- something so dear to my heart.
5 PIECE TAKOYAKI-- $5.00
We originally ventured out to Waikiki for the Spam Jam,
but it was so packed we decided to escape the crowds by going to
Waikiki Yokocho for a sit down meal instead.
(See our first visit for more visiting and parking information).
Umami Kingyo Teppan is located in the Waikiki Gourmet Food Alley;
immediately to the right of the main entrance on Royal Hawaiian Avenue.
The sight of Takoyaki got our attention right away.
Brought to our table freshly made (and steaming hot, please be careful)-- just like in streets of Osaka!
Japanese Food Alley in Waikiki-- Waikiki Yokocho-- Nana's Green Tea Ice Cream and Nomu Bar (Oahu, Hawaii).
Waikiki Yokocho (which is "alley" in Japanese) recently opened this past December.
I'm a bit late, but finally made it down to check it out.
[Note]- Prices shown effective February 2017.
My friend and I were wandering Waikiki late one afternoon and we started getting hungry.
We both spot the Noi sign while inside the Royal Hawaiian Shopping Center.
On a random day, my Fiance tells me he had lunch at Harbor Restaurant 38.
Then proceeded to go on and on raving about it.
But my burning question was, "You went... WITHOUT me?"
He felt a bit guilty so he brought me this time around. ;)
