Kirin Chinese Restaurant Oahu (Hawaii). Honey Glazed Walnut Shrimp Dinner.
Fried Shrimp with Honey Glazed Walnuts- $17.95 (2 orders shown).
We enjoy going to Kirin Chinese Restaurant for Dim Sum (see my review),
but our visit this time was for a birthday dinner.

I pre-arranged everything over the phone in advance.

My bad,
I didn't catch the name of the person I spoke to several times, maybe it's the owner?
They were super nice and patient with my many questions-- a big thank you!

While they offer 2 dinner set menus  with 9 courses each including dessert (please call to confirm pricing),
I decided to piece together my own menu to include some of my Fiance's favorites.

SPRING ROLLS
($8.95; 8 pieces per order cut into halves)

Kirin Chinese Restaurant Oahu (Hawaii). Deep Fry spring rolls.
Spring rolls with various vegetables (mushrooms, taro, carrots, etc.) and pork.
Fried to a crunchy perfection.

You will need 2 orders if you have a party of 10 or more.

Peking Duck (whole) served with buns
$48
Kirin Chinese Restaurant Oahu (Hawaii). Peking Duck with Buns Dinner.
There's 12 buns total for a whole serving of duck. Half order is also possible ($24.50).
Pre-cut and plated Peking duck brought to the table.

If you want a less filling option, opt for
the traditional Chinese pancakes in lieu of the buns.

Maine Lobster in Peppery Salt & Garlic
$34 per LB (~ 3.13 lbs shown)
Kirin Chinese Restaurant Oahu (Hawaii). Maine Lobster Seafood Dinner.
You have option to request the Lobster or Crab to be cooked in one of six styles.
Juicy Maine Lobster with large meaty claws!

I think the garlic ratio is good even for those who might not be the biggest fan of garlic.
But if I made it myself, I would load it up more with garlic (but that's because we LOVE garlic).

Easy-to-eat as all of the pieces are pre-separated for you.

Lobster in Peppery Salt and Garlic (Kirin Chinese Restaurant Honolulu).
Lobster fried in a super light starch coating then wok stir-fried with the aromatic seasonings.

Beef Tenderloin with Black Pepper Sizzling Platter
($24.95)
Kirin Chinese Restaurant Oahu (Hawaii). Beef Tenderloin sizzling plate in Pepper Sauce and Bell Pepper.
This was extremely delicious.
Delivered with drama as it comes sizzling on a hot plate.
Super tender meat with bell pepper and mild onions bathed in a savory pepper sauce with a hint of tang.

Yang Chow Fried Rice & Mapo Tofu
($13.95 each)
Kirin Chinese Restaurant Oahu (Hawaii). Yang Chow Fried Rice and Mapo Tofu Entree.

The fried rice comes in large communal bowl.
They offered to portion it out for us individually (as shown here).

The fried rice was served almost towards the end of the meal
(though that seems to be the trend in Chinese restaurants I've been to lately here).
So you might want to request that to be served first if it matters to you.

For larger tables, they recommend doubling up the rice, walnut shrimp and appetizer also.

Cold Ginger Chicken (half order)
$15.95

Kirin Chinese Restaurant Oahu (Hawaii). Cold Ginger Chicken.

The chicken was very soft and the green onion and ginger sauce was very tasty.

Choy Sum with Oyster Sauce
$12.95
Kirin Chinese Restaurant Oahu (Hawaii). Choy Sum with Oyster Sauce.
Time to devour some veggies.

The oyster sauce was quite light, leaving room
for you to taste the sweetness of the Choy Sum.

We had a great meal and the restaurant was very nice and accommodating--BYOB for wines and allowed us to have a birthday cake delivered directly (they provided paper plates and utensils; self-served).

I highly recommend Kirin if you want to eat Chinese food in a more up-scale but more quiet atmosphere.
Really good for gatherings!

PRIVATE DINING ROOM(S)

Picture
Private Dining Room Area. There's 2 tables of 10 seats (additional seats can be added but very tight fit).

Both rooms can be connected together, or closed off with the middle divider
making for a roomy but intimate space.

If you prefer the more bustling feel of a Chinese restaurant, I also highly recommend
dinner at Legend's Seafood Restaurant (my review).

There are so many restaurants in town. But Kirin Chinese Restaurant seemed to have made an impact for you that's why it has become closer to your heart more than ever! Aside form the affordable menu they have, they serve great food, that's why there's nothing I can complain about it. Growing up, there is also a restaurant that has become close to my heart. I grew up longing for the food the serve until they built a branch near our places. My heart was filled with so much happiness that time!
