Cajun King Oahu (Aiea)- Black Bean Lobster | hiohio.net

Black Bean Lobster- $17 (also available in Salt + Pepper or Ginger + Green Onion). Pretty good but best paired with rice to soak up the sauce.

We've been coming to Cajun King ever since it first opened a few years ago in 2013.

Initially, we were drawn in by their inexpensive Lobster Lunch special (for $12.99, you get a 1/2 lobster with steak, shrimp, or pork chops with white or fried rice).
It seemed like a contradiction. Seafood at affordable prices?
We had to try!
Since that first visit, call us hooked!

Located in the Waimalu Shopping Center in Aiea (near Pealridge Shopping Center), the surrounding looks ordinary but the food is worth the trip.

For the record, I am NOT a fan of Mexican food. Never was, probably never will be.
Just not my thing. So when my friend decided to have their birthday here, I was curious but unsure.

1) It's not Traditional Mexican (more upscale with modern twist).
2) It's bought to you by the same owner of Shokudo & Bread + Butter
(which I really liked, see my review here).

Buho Cantina Waikiki- Award Winning Yellowtail Ceviche, hiohio.net.

Buho's "Award Winning" Ceviche made with Yellowtail - $13.95. The flavors were simply fantastic! The only thing I have to pick at is there's not more (than the 3 convenient layers).

I commend you for wanting to see Japan on your own.   Explore everything at your own pace, and find hidden gems while getting lost.  This is why you are here right?
You do need to allot some time for planning & researching.
It will be time consuming, but very rewarding in the end.
