When my friends decided to meet at Bread + Butter for Lunch,  I was thrilled since they are a new café opened by the same owners of Shokudo right next door.   It occupies the former Angelo Pietro location near Ala Moana.  I was most curious to see how their chef combines ingredients using Japanese, Spanish, American, and local cuisine as inspiration.

The interior is bright and airy,  with a combination of wood, concrete, and succulent plants--making for a comfortable place that you can't help but want to linger for a bit.

The idea behind the restaurant is pretty awesome.  A place where one can visit 3 times a day and be able to order different things each time.  You can grab coffee in the morning,  prepared food (sandwiches and salads) to-go for lunch.  Then once night falls, drop by for a glass of wine.

Seating is free-for all and water and utensils are self-service.  It's almost like going to Starbucks except you get your food delivered to the table once it's ready.  Don't forget to tip!.

I love this sign.

The Lobster Bisque Mac & Cheese was creamy and decadent. No shortage of cheese here for sure. Very delicious!
The staff was really friendly and the food was excellent.  The prices are super affordable too!   I would return just to eat the Squid Ink Pasta and the Lobster Bisque Mac & Cheese.    If you are still hungry after, walk on over to Shokudo and order their famous Honey Toast.

Squid Ink Pasta. The sauce is so good I almost wanted to lick the plate. Like an infatuation, I am still thinking about this pasta days later!
My next visit here will definitely be at night time to check out their wine bar and tapas menu.

Wow, I like to add these recipes to my menu. I am inspired by your choice of perfect food. I think a lot of kids don't want to eat the same recipe over and over again, it will change the menu. Keep up the good work.
