MW's Afternoon Tea only happens once a month on the third Sunday
and it's a new menu each time.

It's no wonder it has taken me this long to finally try it.

First impressions-- the restaurant may not have the best view as
its located behind the new(er) Walgreens Pharmacy by Ala Moana Shopping center.

The valet staff was really fast and even held the door for us to the restaurant.
Who says chivalry is dead?

We were seated quickly once we told the host we had a reservation.

The decor is modern yet very comfortable.
If you click on Google street view, you can see the inside of the restaurant.

From the moment we met our server (Eric M?) to the end of the service,
they were caring, attentive, and observant.
They would announce each dish as it was brought out.

Our server saw me snapping away at their lovely dishes and asked if I wanted them to plate everything for me
(which I kindly refused as I hate to impose, but it was very kind of them to offer).

At the end, they volunteered (without me asking)
and numbered my menu to correspond with the way the desserts were plated
(as it was in a different order than on the menu).

Ok, so I didn't get to try this Pastrami Sandwich, but my friends say it was really good so lets go with that!

(From bottom to top)

Smores Eclair

"Bana-offe Dobos Torte"

Blueberry Lilikoi Macaron

Apple "Tarte Tatin"

Pineapple Yuzu Financier

Li-Hing Cherry Custard Tart

While I'm not a fan of cookies, one bite of this Chocolate Brownie
and I was sold.
It was warm, chewy, and decadent.

Why can't all cookies taste like this?

Never mind the static at the top of my head. I'm holding the MMP Ice tea!

Instead of hot tea, I tried their MMP Iced Tea (with Kalamungai) as it sounded intriguing.
My friend, who is familiar with this tree explained what it was.

It certainly was a unique blend with Pineapple + Matcha.
Personally I think it's an acquired taste but my friends loved it.

Also, at the corner of my eye, I spot bottles of Japanese Whiskies at their bar (Yamazaki, Hibiki). ;)

Overall, this was a great visit from beginning to end.
Both food and service was wonderful!

So, who's up for afternoon tea next month at MW??
