To me its like an izakaya with a modern twist.
Not really someplace you'll go to if you've starved for days
because it's all about sharing the small bites (similar to tapas),
drinking, and enjoying company of those around you.
After drinks were ordered, the meal starts off with an Otooshi.
Spicy Fried Chicken
Potato Fries
Theses aren't your ordinary french fries.
The addition of rosemary and garlic really elevates it to another level.
Wagyu Steak
We liked the flavors in the steak but did find this particular piece to be on the fatty side.
Since we sat in front of the chef, we had a great time watching him and his good friend
put out each dish with devotion.
This dish was fantastic!
The octopus and mushrooms were both so tender while the sauce was packed with flavor.
Chef (Ponta) searing roasted duck.
As we got to sit at the counter, Chef Ponta chatted with us throughout the night.
We had a wonderful visit to PLAT HOME thanks to their warmth, talent, and creativity.
If you follow them onfacebook, you can see their newest creations
(and when the restaurant is close for vacation).
The restaurant is very homey and makes you want to linger.
But when they got busy we didn't want to keep the other (walk-in) guests waiting.
I think the hardest part of the visit was picking a favorite dish since they were all really good.
PLAT HOME is very easy to get to by foot especially if you stay on the main road.
It's a quick few minutes walk from Omi-cho Market.
Google map is pretty spot on too.
We can’t wait to go back when we return to Kanazawa again.
