Japan How-to | Using Open Jaw Flights | hiohio.net
When traveling long distance around Japan, sometimes its more time efficient to fly instead of taking the Shinkansen (bullet train).

Open Jaw flights saves you time because you arrive from one destination, but you fly out from another.

In my example picture, you fly to Japan into
Osaka (Kansai).  You fly out domestically through Osaka (Itami Airport) to Tokyo (Haneda or Narita Airport).  You fly home via Tokyo without having to return to Osaka again.

[Note]-- before I begin, I need to point the following is not an endorsement of any kind, just an alternative transportation option to think about.

Two domestic Japanese carriers that come to mind are JAL (Japan Airlines) + Peach Air (Low-cost carrier; but apparently their food for purchase is really good, what I read anyways).

They say that if you want to explore Japan, you need to allot months for your trip! There are so many transportation means possible, and bullet train is the most accessible. But nowadays, taking flights is already possible too. They are promoting that it’s also also accessible and could be also more affordable compared to taking bullet trains. We will be going to Osaka next month, and I want to reach Tokyo at the same time. I will see what will work better for me!
