We were given the option to sit on the outside either at a table or sofa. To be safe, we picked a table. We were glad to have made a reservation as majority of the tables outside were all marked as reserved. Our table faced the Dolphin pools. Although it was more towards the back, it was good as it wasn't too hot, and there were nice gusts of wind blowing from time-to-time even though it was a super humid day. The food was pretty good-- I especially liked the savory sandwich bites. The menu is comparable to Moana Surfrider's Afternoon Tea (which I liked better) except the Kahala offers a white Champagne vs. Moana's Rosé with the set menu. Our server was cordial, but service was a bit disappointing. |
Even though they offer teas from Harney & Sons, I was a little bummed that they used the individual sachets instead of loose leaves in the large pot. I was really surprised they didn't offer H&S's popular Paris Tea . I don't think its because of the name as they did offer Bangkok. Their actual tea selections mainly skewed towards the tropical/ herbal side which I am not a big fan of. So I stuck with Earl Grey which I do like. I think we all agreed that we missed having the option to choose our tea leaves by smelling the samples. Overall, a nice place to spend the afternoon due to the ambiance and menu, but the lacking service doesn't make it feel like a "must-visit" destination. |
