Just a short walk after Omi-cho Market, FUWARI is restaurant worth a visit.
Sure, you will be tempted to try out all of the beautiful seafood while passing by the market,
but if you can manage to walk pass the seafood temptation you will
find FUWARI to be a treat!
Appetizer
"Otoshi"-- Served automatically as it's included in the seating charge-- ¥300.
It's very common in Izakayas or Sushi restaurants.
What you get for the Otoshi dish really depends on what the chef feels like.
So think of it as a surprise!
Assorted Sashimi Platter
(Restaurant Specialty)
So it's possible you get served something else.
Beer seems like an appropriate match to their delicious food
(but they do sell other types of alcohol; see menu on the bottom of page).
I love that they sell Kirin (my preferred brand).
Food at FUWARI was outstanding!
We picked a few dishes ourselves, with the rest from the Chef's recommendation.
I don't think you can go wrong with anything on the menu.
Now normally I'm one to skip dessert, but I heard their Pear Sorbet is not to be missed.
The Sorbet arrives, and it looks quite ordinary.
One bite and the flavors blew me away...WOW!!!
It's super light, with just the right balance of sweet and tart.
It's super refreshing too-- never mind it's less than 30 degrees °F (-1.1 °C) outside.
I understand why this is their only dessert on the menu.
Excuse my language, but this is freaking delicious!
I'm coming back next time just to eat this.
Oh...and did I mention the best part-- it only cost ¥300??
(Our total meal for two with 3 beers came out to around ¥10,800--
what a bargain for an incredible meal!)
