Cosmopolitan Las Vegas- Terrace Studio + Hotel Overview.

Cosmopolitan Las Vegas Studio Terrace Room, hiohio.net
Our view from the 37th floor on the East tower (closest to the strip).
[THE GOOD]
Last year, we received a mailer from the Cosmopolitan Hotel & Casino (aka. COSMO) in Las Vegas for 2 free nights after a short visit to their casino just months before.   Dreams of the iconic Bellagio Fountain immediately danced into our heads once again.  How can we turn down such a nice offer from such a cool (or bizarre) hotel?

We did a paid upgrade on the room (fountain view), so we could see the stunning Bellagio Fountain next door from the privacy of our own balcony on the 37th floor.
Cosmopolitan Las Vegas Terrace Studio, Bed.
King Bed (there's rooms with 2 Queens).
Picture
Too bad the blinds (to cover up the bathroom area is manual only). Is there a master light switch I'm missing somewhere too?
Cosmopolitan Las Vegas Studio Terrace, Jet Tub.
Well hello Jet Tub! After a long day of walking on the strip, it is indeed very welcoming. Perfect to relax with a glass of wine in hand.
Cosmo LV bathroom, Fountain Studio Terrace Room, Amenities.
Double sinks + Soap & Mouthwash from C.O. Bigelow Apothecary. Though for the life of me, I can't figure out why the water faucets were installed counter clock-wise (feels strange if you are right-handed).
Picture
Generous size shower. Though the water from the shower head doesn't reach all the way where the bench is. No hand-held shower though (I think their penthouse has one).
Cosmoplitan Las Vegas Terrace Studio Sofa.
Sitting area. Of course my traveling buddies are not included. ;)
Picture
My slightly blurry picture of the Cosmo TV hook ups and electrical plugs (ipad/iPhone/ USB, etc). Very handy!
Cosmopolitan LV Studio Terrace, Desk.
Desk Area. Some of the room's light switches are behind the back of this wall. Not the most convenient to me.
Cosmo LV kitchenette area, no coffee maker.
The hotel was originally built as a Condominium, so the rooms are equipped with dishwasher and microwave. The Mini-fridge has an empty area on the bottom (freezer). There is a wine opener and glasses but like most LV hotels, no coffee maker (nothing new).

[THE NOT-SO GREAT]

I submitted a wordy review on Trip Advisor if you want to read it in full.  We had slight problems with the lights not working shortly after checking it, but were able to get it fixed pretty fast.

To cut to the point, I'm going to highlight the "not-so-great" in picture form.  You can decide for yourself why it wasn't perfect.   (I know, what kind of crazy person takes precious vacation time away to snap pictures like they are documenting a crime scene.  Apparently, I am that crazy person).
Picture
Ok, a stain here and there is not going to be a deal breaker...but the smoke alarm in the ceiling with no cover...it's a bit alarming (pun intended). Thank goodness there was another one in the room that (looked like) it was working.
Cosmo LV Closet (robe).
Inside the Closet, there are two robes. One of them looked like this (maybe you will be much luckier). I think it might be time to switch out to a new one don't you think? The matching slippers for in-room use is pretty comfy though.

[BOTTOM LINE]

We loved the location and casino (9 out of 10 times really great cocktail service).   We will consider Cosmo again on a future trip in hopes the maintenance and cleanliness will be improved.

[WHY I WOULD STAY AGAIN]
  • Unbeatable Center Strip location and view (if you get a room with a Terrace Fountain view and up; though during summer or winter months maybe not the best idea since you won't be able to use it much).
  • The Jet tub (double check the type of room you are looking into, the 1 Bed room has the Japanese-style tub).
  • Shuttle bus stop at Valet that takes you direct to LAS (McCarran) Airport.  It's a 25-seater bus provided by Bell Trans.  $8 per person  | cash only + tips extra .
    • The shuttle does make a quick stop next door at Aria after you get on.
  • There's now a designated UBER and LYFT pick-up area!
  • Amazing selection of restaurants (a few examples below).
  • Fast cocktail service.

[FOOD]

Estiatorio Milos Lunch Special, Salmon, hiohio.net
Estiatorio Milos's Mediterranean Pre-Fixe Lunch (3 items) is a great value for the strip ($25.15). Try their grilled octopus too (+$10 supplement). Otherwise, dinner is quite pricey here!
Secret Pizza White slice, Las Vegas, hiohio.net
"White Slice" at Secret Pizza (3rd floor next to Blue Ribbon Sushi). Garlic heaven! $5.50 for a slice, or $26-$36 for the whole pizza. Opened late until 4am daily (or 5am on Monday-Fridays).
Picture
Wicked Spoon Buffet. They do daily brunches too, but I prefer their dinner buffet (~$27-$39 depending on time and day; optional bottomless mimosas, sparkling "champagne" or Bloody Marys for $12 more).
Wicked Spoon Buffet (dinner) collage, Las Vegas.
There's crab legs for dinner! Their fried chicken and Salmon is good too. Though their desserts aren't my favorite unfortunately.
Holesteins Popcorn Las Vegas.
Holsteins Las Vegas Milk Shakes, hiohio.net
Holstein's Bam-Boozled milk shakes ($13) are out of this world good (enough to share for 2; they give you the leftovers in another cup too).   You get free popcorn while you wait for your food.  A very good place to grab a burger but their music is quite loud.
Picture
Holstein's Rising Sun Kobe Beef Burger with Spicy Mayo, Crispy Yam, Tempura Avocado, Teriyaki Glaze and Furikake Seaweed. ($18).

A few photos of the property.  There's lots of art scattered about.  Some may argue the hotel has a young or hip-vibe since they have one of the most popular
night clubs around, but people from all ages seem to enjoy the resort too.  Drop by in person to see if you like it or not.

Now, if only they will give us a free wraparound suite.  (I can dream, haha).

      The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas
      (Hotel and Casino).

     3708 Las Vegas Boulevard South
     Las Vegas, NV 89109

There's 2 towers:
  • EAST- closest to the Strip/ Bellagio Fountain.  If requesting a terrace room, ask for a room ABOVE the Bellagio Sign/ Tower.
  • WEST- closer to Valet/ Parking / Check-in; a bit more quieter.

Have you stayed at the COSMO?  How did you like it?
